Web Design

There is a reason Apple is successful. For years they have been adhering to the principal of good design, seamless technology, and very good marketing.  These three elements have not only kept Apple alive but have allowed Apple to thrive in a very nasty economic environment.

So what does Apple have to do with web design?

The point is that a good website requires three elements to be fused together effectively.

  • Creative Design (Make it pretty, but usable)
  • Seamless Web Development (Integration of web tools/applications)
  • Online Marketing (Drive traffic and get visitors to do things we want them to)

In order to explain this point, we often refer to Apple because they always hit these three points in any of their products.  This can be illustrated by saying:

  1. Apple’s products look good
  2. The applications / software are very easy to use (think iPhone)
  3. And they certainly know how to market themselves.

Can an ugly website be successful?

Yes, it can if it is built with the user in mind.  But if this site were de-uglified, it would peform twice as well. On the other hand, a beautiful website can yield little or no results if the site’s visitors can figure out how to do simple things..ie. purchase a product, fill out an inquiry form, find what they’re looking for via a search tool…etc.

So what if you have something that looks good and is easy to use?
This is great, and we are now on the right track!  However, after 10 years in this business, we’ve seen many websites and applications that were very cool and easy to use - but the company became so enamored with how it looked or fixated on the positioning, that they ignored all suggestions for a good online marketing plan to go along with the website.  No visitors, no leads or no purchases = failed web presence.

We get your online customers to do what we want them to.
So think of web design as being not just the look of the site, but the experience and overall purpose of the site – or getting the user to do what you want them to do.  Remember that posting news and information on the web is not good enough any longer.  You’ll have to go beyond this and start looking at your site as physical extension of your business.  Build something that is easy to use, addresses your customers needs and makes things extremely simple for them to do and you will lower the barrier to making something happen.

A website's success starts with design and usability (see our portfolio). We are very good at this and we understand how to integrate technology and then drive traffic.

Don't do what your competitors are doing.  Do something different!
